Qatar Airways Compensation for Canceled Flight
Has a Qatar Airways flight cancellation disrupted your travel plans? Under Regulation (EC) No. 261/2004, you may be entitled to up to €600 per passenger in compensation. However, because Qatar Airways is not a European airline, this regulation only applies if your flight departed from an EU airport. Below, you’ll find when Qatar Airways compensation for canceled flight applies, how much you can receive, and the steps to claim it.

When can you claim Qatar Airways compensation for cancceled flight?
To qualify for Qatar Airways compensation for canceled flight, the following conditions must be met:
The flight was cancelled less than 14 days before departure
The flight departed from an airport in the European Union
The cancellation was not due to extraordinary circumstances (e.g. extreme weather, air traffic control strikes, government restrictions)
The cancellation was due to internal company reasons such as operational issues, crew shortages, or technical faults
If your flight originated outside the EU and was only arriving into an EU airport, the regulation does not apply because Qatar Airways is a non-EU carrier.
How much compensation can you claim?
The amount of Qatar Airways compensation for canceled flight depends on the total flight distance:
€250
Compensation per passenger
Less than 1,500 km
€400
Compensation per passenger
Between 1,500 and 3,500 km
€600
Compensation per passenger
Over 3,500 km
Practical Examples:

If a replacement flight was provided but arrived more than 3 hours late, you may still claim compensation.
